Project Description

When playing a video game there is gap between those who play games on the PC and those who play on the computer. Some people prefer the feel of a dedicated game controller for its “all in one package”, ease of use and wireless capabilities. However there are those that prefer a mouse and keyboard for its easy customization, accuracy and speed. Often if one were to play a dedicated console game to the PC and vice versa they would see a startling change in the way in which they interact and control the game. This can be a point of contention between the two groups. My project seeks to bridge the gap between these two worlds. My project is a game controller, entiled the Soma controller, that consists of touch-pad and button/joystick combination. The touch-pad replicates the accuracy of a mouse whilst keeping it an all in one unit. This unique controller design combines the best of both worlds.
